Bill Would Make Hand-Held Cell Phone Use in Car a Reckless Driving Offense
Last month Legislation was introduced to make cell phone use while driving reckless-driving offense that carries five points, higher fines and possible imprisonment.
Under current law, N.J.S.A. 39:4-97, operating a hand-held electronic communication device while on the road carries a $100 fine and no motor vehicle or insurance eligibility points.

Is Egypt’s Judiciary Independent?
Throughout the peaceful revolution that brought down Mubarak’s 30 year regime, very few people talked about the country’s openly corrupt judiciary. This is the judiciary that constantly turned a blind eye to the corruption that was prevalent throughout Egypt. The judiciary was and remains the government’s quasi-legitimate arm in dealing with the opposition or for favors when “one of their own” was in trouble.
Those Foreign Hands that Mess with Egypt
Ever since I can remember as a child growing up in Cairo, I have been always afraid of those un-identified hands –sometimes referred to in the diminutive as fingers–that mess with the internal harmony of Egyptian society. I was warned not to pick up toys or candy from strangers or that were left unattended on the streets, because they might be placed there by those hands. Later, I heard that any unrest, protest, demonstration, and even the mere rise in prices of goods, was nothing but the action of those hands.
